Burmese Pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been released

 from house arrest.

 A United Nations human rights official 

in Rangoon said Burma's ruling generals

 told him this week that the activist is no longer being held.

 The UN official Paulo Sergio Pinheiro met with Ms. 

Aung San Suu Kyi on Thursday.

 He said she told him she would not accept freedom until everyone arrested

 with her five months ago is released. 

Burma is still holding 35 pro-democracy activists 

arrested with Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi.

 More than 100 members of Burma's National League for Democracy Party 

were arrested on May 30th.

 The arrests followed a violent clash

 with government supporters in northern Burma.
