Russia is launching a nation-wide health check program
for children today after statistics sent in from
the region showed the worrying decline in child health.
Over the next 10 months team of medical specialists
will be sent to schools,
kindergartens children's home throughout Russia.
By offering free on-the-spot examinations to all children
doctors hope to build up a clear picture of the health
of the country's youngster generation.
The official in charge of the program says focusing
on children's health is vital to safeguarding Russia's future.
Statistics show that less than one in three children are born health,
and child's sickness has grown by a quarter in 5 years.
